2020 Beacon Awards honorees selected

The Journal Record will honor 17 businesses and organizations for their contributions to the community at its 13th annual Beacon Awards on July 9.

The 2020 Beacon Award honorees give back to the community in a variety of ways, including helping advance education initiatives at Oklahoma schools and providing support to victims of domestic abuse.

The honorees will be featured in a magazine and recognized at the reception, which is set for 4-6 p.m. at the Gaillardia Golf and Country Club in Oklahoma City.

“State charities are vital to helping those who face great challenges in securing shelter, food, medical care and other basic essentials,” said Journal Record Editor Russell Ray. “Celebrating and recognizing these charities and the business leaders who support them is important. This event is our way of acknowledging their contributions.”

Beacon honorees will be recognized in three categories – charitable influence, philanthropic impact and nonprofits serving nonprofits. Overall winners in each category will be announced at the event and will receive a donation for the nonprofit they support.

First Fidelity Bank is presenting sponsor for the event. The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits is an event partner.

Individual tickets are available for $75. Corporate tables and sponsorships are still available. For more information or to make reservations, contact Julie Traylor at jtraylor@journalrecord.com or 405-278-2820 or visit https://www.squadup.com/events/2020-beacon-awards.
