2024 Alliance Award winners recognized at Annual Meeting
The Alliance Awards program was created in 2022 to recognize excellence within Petroleum Alliance member companies throughout the state.
During last week's Annual Meeting, The Alliance presented its 2024 award winners, recognizing six Alliance member companies for their industry leadership in Community Impact, Environmental Stewardship, and Safety.
The Christina Rehkop Community Impact Award recognizes industry efforts that have positively impacted the communities where member companies operate through programs prioritizing community involvement. The award is named in honor of the late Christina Rehkop, who dedicated her career to advancing the oil and natural gas industry through community outreach at Devon Energy.
The Excellence in Environmental Stewardship Award highlights industry efforts demonstrating a commitment to air, water, land, or species conservation or improvement. The award honors Alliance member companies that have implemented innovative, voluntary, and effective environmental programs in Oklahoma.
The Reat Medcalf Safety Award recognizes industry efforts to keep the oil and gas workforce safe. The award recognizes Alliance member companies for commendable leadership and excellence in integrating Health and Safety programs in their business operations. The award is named in honor of Carnegie Medal winner Reat Medcalf who risked his safety to save the life of a co-worker at an Earlsboro, Okla., drilling site in 1927.
The inaugural Christina Rehkop Community Impact Award winner is Reign Capital Holdings — a Le Norman company — for its support of Oklahoma’s March of Dimes Nurse of the Year – Heroes in Action Awards gala.
In 2023, the Le Norman Companies celebrated a decade as presenting sponsor of the gala. This represents the culmination of a longstanding commitment to giving back to nurses, like the ones who selflessly cared for the Le Norman family 22 years ago. Quincy Le Norman was born at only 24 weeks gestation and spent the first 88 days of her life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at OU Children’s Hospital.
Cory, Quincy’s mother, found both comfort and optimism in the round-the-clock care provided by the nursing staff. She attributes the nurses’ unwavering dedication at that challenging time to Quincy's survival. Now, nearly 22-years-old, Quincy is thriving.
The March of Dimes Nurse of the Year – Heroes in Action Awards gala is an annual event and fundraiser that celebrates the healthcare community to recognize nursing excellence. The Le Norman companies have been able to provide substantial financial support to recognize those great nurses, allowing the March of Dimes to allocate more funds directly to the mission – to improve the health of mothers and babies.
