Le Norman: Steady leadership in uncertain times
It’s no secret that Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry is facing extraordinary challenges. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are dealing with historically low prices caused by an unprecedented drop in demand and oversupply of our products.
With no place to store the oil we produce, some of us are being forced to shut-in wells. Many companies are laying off employees and even being forced to declare bankruptcy. It’s in trying times like these that true leaders arise, and I believe we have found such a leader in the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma’s new president, Brook A. Simmons.
Brook is a native Oklahoman with deep roots in our industry. He’s spent his career at the nexus of Oklahoma’s government and her largest industry, ensuring that those who produce the energy that powers our state and our nation are treated fairly by our elected officials and other policymakers.
